The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager Field Operations and will be responsible for, inter alia, the following:

Key Responsibility:

• Laise with external stakeholders (Government departments (Municipalities, Transnet & Eskom), architects, civil teams, HVAC, and electrical contractors)
• Laise with internal stakeholders (cable station teams, senior management, and heads of departments)
• Delivery of the project on time, on budget and to the customers complete satisfaction.
• Monitor, compile, and submit project reports to internal management capturing the status of the project in line with PMO processes.
• Accurately communicating project status and performance through the tiered management system daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
• Ensure health, safety, environment, sustainability, and security objectives are achieved throughout the lifecycle of the project along with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop detailed project plans to guide the customer and internal stakeholders on the projects progress, status, and variances from the plan.
• Identify, monitor, mitigate and report project risks to internal management to ensure that Seacom delivers on its contractual requirements.
• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with Seacom’s policies and procedures and that the governance is maintained throughout the project.

EDUCATION:

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications Engineering / Civil engineering, or related fields
• Degree or certifications in project management
• IP certification would be an added advantage

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• In-depth understanding of municipal and environmental regulations
• Thorough understanding of construction regulations in Kenya, South Africa and Mozambique markets will be advantageous
• Extensive knowledge of wayleave or servitude application process
• Thorough understanding of terrestrial and submarine cable systems
• Years of In-depth knowledge on DWDM, ROADM, SDH, AC & DC Power, Generator, HVAC, and BMS systems
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills for liaising with various internal departments and client
• Experience in coordinating with support functions such as Recruitment, Training, HR, IT, Infrastructure etc.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Excellent people management skills
• Consultancy and presentation skills
• Customer focused and time-based results oriented
• Good understanding of IP MPLS and other IP technologies
• Ability to work with different nationalities and cultures
